Prepare the Walls


After all this time away from the blog, trip to Guatemala taken, here I am, not telling you anything about that (for the time being), but instead I am telling you about an artist whose work I saw for the first time today. He instantly shot to the top of my favorite artists list.


He is José Francisco Borges, a Brazilian printmaker, and I fear I will be unable to live a happy life without having a great, great number of his works surrounding me at all times.

Within five minutes of first seeing his work, I thought about getting a tattoo, if only I could choose just one piece.


Maybe I could have a basket of my favorite fruits?


I fear that if I show Borges' work to C. and he is insufficiently excited, this will happen:

But then, maybe he will take the suggestion that I have just cooked up in my head, for him to buy me one of these every year for my birthday, our anniversary and other assorted holidays (don't worry, they are small and all cost between $40 and $100), the scene will be rather more like this:
